About ecoENERGY & Ontario Home Energy Savings

The ecoENERGY Retrofit -Houses program is an initiative of Natural Resources Canada and is designed to help reduce household greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging Canadians to improve the level of energy efficiency in their homes. While NRCan cancelled funding on March 31, 2010, the provincial Home Energy Savings program is continuing grant money for homeowners to perform energy retrofits. Contracted delivery agents provide the service to homeowners across Canada. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is part of Canada’s climate change strategy to help us meet commitments of the Kyoto Protocol.

The Elora Environment Centre carries out the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes energy efficiency incentive program under license from Green Communities Canada. We operate over a large part of south-central and south-western Ontario ( Tobermory to Sarnia)

Please Note: We previously operated this program under the name REEP ( Residential Energy Efficiency Program) . Although we no longer use the REEP name, all program elements remain the same.
